I Swiped Right Review
I have had people give me reviews in a few paragraphs, however, Fasanmi Christainah wrote me a full three-page review when she read my work "I swiped right."
I have wanted to post this since January, but I also want to keep it to myself because I cherish it. However, reviews are social proof, and this is proof that I am a terrific writer who will host an Abuja Physical Writing BootCamp in March 2025.
Review for Chapter 1
Fasanmi: Can I see Junior and give him a welcoming and resounding slap that makes him see the reality of his life and Amina's properties to the next fling? How does he feel? To the fling who innocently accepts the gift, did she know they are used? Did she know the ex was not the one for her as well?
Amina is a sweet, inquisitive lover girl who meets different men and their shady and beastly natures. The one who has two baby mamas and is about to elope with an elderly white woman outside the States—what a foolish strategic way to beat poverty. Men of God must do much better and stop using titles to chase after the skirts of ladies.
Review for Chapter 2
I hope Zen truly loves my dear Amina and not just a fling thing… Chapter 3 will give us a clue.
Review for Chapter 3
Fasanmi: Ooooh, we can see Zen is liking my dear Amina, and how it makes me giggle. James is that friend I will describe as the one who has the street OT with ladies and has a handful of experiences with it but he should not come to spoil the feelings Zen is having for my dear Amina please, allow him to define his feelings and I hope this end well between Amina and Zen, I just don’t want this to be a book that makes me frown once I’m done reading to see it was not the ending we all expected.
Review for Chapter 4
My dear Amina, I understand the whole fun of meeting a man you like but can she take it slow of her wild thought with Zen? I hope Zen is the man. Did I forget to mention the men she encountered within her relationship, urrrrgggggghhhhhhhh? And what is the color of Andrew's problem, he reminds me of men who never like you genuinely, but are drawn to what they benefit from you which is the sex part Amina mentioned, the type of men who find it so hard to see you with another man but offer nothing.
Review for Chapter 5
I will call it a ray of hope for Zen’s feelings for my dear Amina. Chapter 4 made me think Amina is the one doing all the solulu delulu feelings for Zen which I found uncomfortable with but now it’s okay. I would love to know more about Zen's messy past with Vanessa.
Also, this chapter pictures the love story of a rich white guy and a black lady who is doing averagely okay but here and there are hiccups in the relationship and yet to fully define the relationship but just enjoying the flow of it. I look forward to reading the next chapter.
Back again, say I love how Zen asked how life has been lately for my dear Amina, it shows a man who is interested in you and wants to know every detail of you while lost staring at you during the conversation, and might end up it with a brief smile and a slight hug that leads to not lusting after each other.
Review for Chapter 6
My dear Amina, having an instinct for something is very valid but never for once shun it off for a temporary pleasure. You may ask questions that might lead to the day you never planned with Zen but I wouldn’t want anything to break your heart when it gets intense with you and Zen.
Review for Chapter 7
Zen, Vanessa, and Mina what an interesting one…..
Review for Chapter 8
My dear Amina ( I still do not know why I’m calling you that though), thank you for taking me to your workplace, relating the health care and how stressed mothers could be when seeing their children sick with the emotional and mental stress that comes with it. I found myself a bit tired of Zen story, Let’s go to the interesting part, what an amazing way of Zen to apologize, and I kind of like your nosy landlord, I do though, but what’s up with the letter Zen dropped? Is he traveling, or what, that part made my heart skip.
Review for Chapter 9
I have yet to type my thoughts down but I need to take a break from this, it seems there is more to this Zen and Vanessa thing and I’m not ready to discover it now.
Review for Chapter 10
Making a deep sigh. My dear Amina, it’s well. I hope Nneka's hug is warm and comforting, the words she shared with you are enough to give you what to set to right, and Andrew, the nosy guy, I need to give him a friendly slap that will help him prioritize what’s right.
Review for Chapter 11
At first, I was deeply angry with Zen for deciding to see Vanessa once he came back to Abuja but highly impressed with how he clearly expressed himself to Vanessa and gave her stern warning, Yes, Zen that’s the man we picture you to be not the fool in love and scared of making a decision or not to wrong anyone. Good boy. Please make it right with my dear Amina in the next chapter. We need to work on our communication style with that, take things slow and set it right not having lust towards each other at first, and decide to call it love while you both are now confused.
Review for Chapter 12
I will still call you my dear Amina but honestly, I’m not impressed by that. Far from impressed, was angry and one of the things that came to my mind was you don’t replace a man with another man. You have to heal from your experience with Zen and not use a guy you met for the first time my dear Amina. Michael will think he found a girl and thinking of taking things seriously. Now Zen waiting for you. What a complicated ish
Review for Chapter 13
Hm, should I say you are sick my dear Amina, or seeing Zen at your house after Michael dropped you off and getting to hear everything from Zen and how down you may be thinking you acted way too fast, Get better, and let’s get to read the concluding part.
Review for Chapter 14
What a short and happy ending for my dear Amina. Glad to know she realized her mistake and everything went so well.
WHAT A GREAT READ WINIFRED!!
The time spent reading this book was not a waste, each chapter give me every reaction that I found myself talking out loud, insulting anyone that piss my Amina off, feel sorry for and love the chemistry she and Zen had. Did I forget to mention the friendship Amina and Nneka had, a peaceful and respectful one at that? Keep it up.
